Hon. Jim Okolo to Lead Observation Mission to Guinea Election
An international election observer and national coordinator Nouvelle Perspective, Hon. Jim Okolo has been accredited to lead an election observation mission to the presidential election taking place in Guinea December 28, 2025.
A UN-accredited observer, he will lead a group of other observers from the West African sub-region to the election which will bring to end years of military-backed interim leadership.
Hon. Okolo, also the Chief Coordinator of the All Federal Capital Territory Sports Association (AFSA) has since taken delivery of his accreditation tag and other items needed for the mission.
He is expected to land in the nation’s capital, Conakry Thursday, December 26 along with members of his team for the crucial assignment.
Guinea’s interim leader, Mamady Doumbouya has been tipped to secure victory as a democratically elected President in the country’s December 28.
Doumbouya who had seized power in a coup four years ago once pledged not to contest in the Sunday’s election. But he is expected to cement his grip on power in the West African country after key challengers were disqualified.
This is one of the high profile foreign elections Hon. Jim Okolo will be taking part in in recent months after his engagement in the election that brought President Donald Trump to power for the second times and series of other missions in Africa, including Namibian election they produced Gideon Boko as the winner.
Along with AUDA NEPAD Nigeria, Embassy Union Delegation to Nigeria and European Union Delegation to Nigeria, his Nouvelle Perspective was one of the six organizations recently enlisted by INEC as those licensed to take part in various elections in Nigeria and across the world.
Nouvelle Perspective also has observed off-season elections in Nigeria in recent times, including Rivers State local government election as well as Senatorial, House of Representatives and State Assembly vacant positions across the country earlier this year.
Recently, it also observed the governorship election in Anambra in which former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo was re-elected for another term of four years.
