GrabrFi Unveils USD Banking Solution for Detty December Travellers, AFCON 2025 Fans
Sunday Ehigiator
As thousands of football enthusiasts prepare to travel across Africa for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, financial technology firm GrabrFi has introduced a USD banking solution designed to ease cross-border spending challenges for Nigerian and global travellers.
The company said its USD Banking plus Welcome to Nigeria bundle is aimed at addressing common travel hurdles such as declined debit cards, spending limits, and difficulties accessing cash abroad, especially during the festive Detty December season which coincides with the continental football tournament.
According to GrabrFi, the solution allows users to open a US checking account within minutes using only a government-issued ID, without the need for US residency or complex documentation.
Travellers can fund their accounts in either naira or dollars, spend seamlessly within Nigeria, and make international payments using GrabrFi’s virtual or physical debit cards.
For Nigerians travelling to Morocco for AFCON, the platform offers the ability to transact across all six host cities; Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, Marrakech, Agadir and Tangier; without the usual constraints associated with traditional banking.
The company said users can pay for accommodation, transportation and shopping without worrying about currency conversion caps or banking restrictions.
GrabrFi also highlighted its appeal to freelancers and remote workers travelling for the tournament, noting that users can receive international payments directly into their US checking accounts in real time.
This, the firm said, enables travellers to earn globally while spending locally, reducing reliance on exchange bureaus and local bank limits.
The fintech company said its core philosophy is to enable users to ‘live local, earn global, and spend in USD’, positioning the service as a practical tool for modern travellers navigating global events such as AFCON.
GrabrFi currently operates in more than 28 countries and provides non-US residents with access to US financial services.
The company said it remains focused on delivering simple and secure cross-border banking solutions that allow users to manage their finances wherever they travel.
For more information, GrabrFi said users can visit its website on www.grabrfi.com, or follow its Nigerian social media channels for updates
