Olateru Emerges as a Leading Curator in Lagos Nightlife and Contemporary Entertainment
In an interview, Lagos nightlife personality Olateru Olagbegi Boluwatife widely known as boluuuuuuuuuuuu or by his nickname “Coolflows” explained how his identity in the entertainment space evolved. He said the name “Coolflows” emerged naturally from his calm, stylish personality and his ability to bring an effortless energy into any room. Over time, he added, the name grew into a recognizable brand associated with premium nightlife experiences.
Reflecting on what sets his work apart in Lagos’ constantly shifting nightlife scene, Boluuuuuuuuuuuu stated that intentionality defines his approach. He remarked that he does not simply organize parties but creates experiences, paying deliberate attention to vibe, atmosphere, culture, and quality. According to him, people resonate with the authenticity and effort he puts into crafting nights that feel curated and unforgettable.
Bolu explained that his early background in branding and event management heavily shaped his trajectory. He noted that the discipline taught him structure, presentation, storytelling, and how to understand the needs of an audience. This foundation, he said, made his transition into full-scale nightlife creation natural, as he was already accustomed to building experiences from the ground up.
Speaking on his industry recognition, Boluuuuuuuuuuuu said each award he has received represents a milestone in his growth. He pointed to honours such as the Most Promising Nightlife Promoter of the Year 2025, Life of the Party 2025, and two JReason Style Awards for Best Event Branding as affirmations that his consistency and impact are being noticed.
Bolu also discussed his collaborations with notable personalities including Yhemo Lee and Candy Daddy. He said these partnerships taught him the importance of influence, connection, and remaining grounded, adding that working with people who understand nightlife culture helped expand his creativity and reach.
On the corporate side of his career, Boluuuuuuuuuuuu described his work with brands such as Choc City, Qatar Airways, and WakaNow as opportunities to blend alignment and storytelling. Whether through branding for Choc City’s album listening events, contributing to Qatar Airways’ FIFA World Cup branding, or managing events for WakaNow, he emphasized that each project was crafted to reflect the brand’s identity while still bearing his personal creative imprint. These partnerships, he said, helped broaden his influence from nightlife into corporate and cultural entertainment.
Bolu further revealed that his newly launched foundation was inspired by gratitude and a desire to give back meaningfully. He explained that he had witnessed the importance of support systems while growing up, especially for children and young people, and wanted to use his platform for a purpose beyond entertainment. The foundation, he noted, focuses on outreach, youth support, and community upliftment. He added that its work goes beyond donations, emphasizing presence, care, and consistency during visits to orphanages and during community engagements.
Looking ahead, Boluuuuuuuuuuuu said he envisions expanding his brand into larger entertainment concepts, more curated nightlife experiences, stronger partnerships, and groundbreaking ideas. His goal, he stated, is to build a sustainable system rather than just a personal brand, something capable of outliving him.
He concluded by expressing his hopes for the future of Nigerian nightlife. Bolu said he aims to inspire the next generation by showing that nightlife is more than parties; it is culture, branding, hospitality, energy, and creativity. If he succeeds in elevating standards and creating spaces that make people feel something meaningful, he said, then he will have fulfilled his purpose in the industry.
