Kwelaku Reintroduces its Distinct Voice in Global Fashion with IGU ARO
For those yet to encounter it, Kwelaku is a name that resonates deeply within circles that value artistry, culture, and intention in fashion. Founded by Victoria Anosike, the African-based brand has, over the past years, cultivated a powerful aesthetic rooted in indigenous craftsmanship and contemporary design. Now, with its latest collection, IGU ARO, Kwelaku reintroduces itself to the wider fashion world, not as new, but as undeniably original and ready to be seen.
IGU ARO translating to “counting or proclamation of the year”. The collection invites a pause to honour the past, embrace the present, and prepare for the future. It marks ten years of creative evolution and five years of the Kwelaku brand, celebrating womanhood through ease, stillness, and purpose.
In September 2025, the collection was shown at Who’s Next Paris as the SS26 line for global buyers and press, followed by Lagos Fashion Week Retail at Nahous in October and GTCO Fashion Weekend in November, giving customers a closer link to its story.
The IGU ARO Tour also deepened Kwelaku’s global relationships with concept stores and showrooms including Couleur Concept in Abidjan, Eidiko Showroom in Paris, and Onuli in Geneva. These collaborations expanded the brand’s presence across Africa and Europe while staying true to its cultural roots.
According to Victoria Anosike, “IGU ARO is a homecoming and a return to gratitude and quiet reflection, marking both a milestone and a new beginning for the women who have shaped the brand’s journey”.
With soft tailoring, fluid silhouettes, and careful attention to detail, IGU ARO expresses modern womanhood that is confident and grounded. Each piece reflects the brand’s focus on timelessness, functionality, and indigenous elegance, bringing together the past and present through thoughtful design. As the brand grows internationally, it remains committed to ethical fashion, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and sustainable craftsmanship.
The IGU ARO Tour will end later this November with an exclusive fashion show and runway event that will highlight the collection’s story, craft, and celebration of womanhood. This final showcase will confirm Kwelaku’s place as a visionary force in contemporary African fashion.
Founded by Victoria Anosike, Kwelaku continues to define African luxury through storytelling, craftsmanship, and intentional design for women who move with purpose, grace, and authenticity.
