Luxury Auto Specialist, Orola Adémoyèwà Adésọji, Shares Secrets Behind His Mastery of High-End Vehicles

For most mechanics, repairing vehicles is a trade. For Orola Adémoyèwà Adésọji, it is a calling—one that has led him deep into the precision-driven world of luxury automobiles. Known for his expertise with high-end brands such as Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Infiniti, and other European marques, Adésọji has built a reputation as one of the few Nigerian technicians trusted with multimillion-dollar cars.
His fascination with elite machines began early. Asked why he chose to specialise in luxury vehicles rather than regular models, he explained that the decision was rooted in his obsession with precision and performance.
He said, “I’ve always had a passion for precision engineering and vehicles that push the boundaries of performance and technology. Luxury cars represent the highest standard in automotive craftsmanship, and working on them challenges me to operate at that same level. I knew early on that I didn’t just want to be a mechanic — I wanted to be a specialist. Luxury automobiles gave me the platform to build that mastery.”
That passion required a high level of discipline and technical training, especially because luxury cars are built with advanced electronics, delicate systems, and intricate engineering frameworks. Adésọji said mastering them required years of intense study and hands-on exposure.
“I invested heavily in continuous training, especially in diagnostics, electronic systems, and brand-specific modules for European vehicles like Range Rover, Mercedes, BMW, and Infiniti. Beyond formal training, I spent years studying wiring diagrams, control modules, CAN communication, and live data interpretation. Hands-on experience, mentorship from senior specialists, and constant practice were equally important”, Adesoji explained.
According to him, the issues luxury car owners face often stem from the same areas: suspension technology, electronics, and software-driven components. These problems, he explained, cut across brands but manifest differently depending on the manufacturer.
“For most luxury brands, the common issues revolve around suspension systems, electronic sensors, and software-related faults. Air suspension failure is a big one, especially with Range Rovers. Mercedes tends to have issues with steering modules and valve body units. BMWs often come in with coolant and oil-related faults due to heat management. Across all brands, electrical issues remain the number one challenge”, he stated.
With vehicles valued in tens of millions of naira, luxury owners expect perfection—meaning any work done must meet strict manufacturer standards. Adésọji said he has built his reputation on discipline and an unwavering commitment to quality.
He said, “First, I use OEM-grade diagnostic tools and follow the manufacturer’s service procedures. I don’t rush any job — I document each stage and verify every repair with post-diagnostic testing. I also use genuine or approved parts, torque-spec everything, and always double-check the safety-critical components. Quality control is a culture for me, not a step.”
That meticulous approach has served him well, especially when confronted with complex cases. He recalled one of his most challenging repairs—an electrical issue that had defeated multiple workshops.
“One of the toughest repairs I handled was a Range Rover with a complex electrical short that several workshops couldn’t resolve. The vehicle had intermittent faults across multiple modules. I isolated the issue by taking the car system-by-system, running deep diagnostics, tracing wiring harnesses, and performing continuity tests. Eventually, I discovered a hidden corrosion point inside the harness under the passenger footwell. Fixing it restored all systems. It taught me patience and the importance of never assuming”, Adesoji explained.
As the auto industry continues to evolve with smarter, more autonomous features, staying relevant requires constant learning. For Adésọji, studying new technologies is part of his lifestyle, not an obligation.
“I make it a habit to continually train—both online and in-person—on emerging automotive technologies. I subscribe to manufacturer service portals, follow engineering forums, and invest in the latest diagnostic tools. Technology evolves fast, so I evolve with it. I also test and practice with every new update or tool to stay ahead”, he noted.
His interaction with clients has also given him insight into what matters most to luxury car owners—trust. According to him, they prioritise expertise and reassurance that their vehicles are in safe hands.
“Luxury-car owners worry about three things: trust, expertise, and attention to detail. They want to know their vehicle is safe, handled professionally, and will not be damaged. I reassure them through transparency — I explain the faults, the steps I’ll take, the parts I’ll use, and I show them progress when needed. Communication builds trust, and trust is everything when handling expensive vehicles”, the auto mechanic stated.
A major challenge in maintaining luxury cars is sourcing genuine parts, which can be expensive or delayed. But Adésọji said he has overcome these hurdles by building strong supplier networks.
“Over the years, I’ve built a strong network of trusted suppliers locally and internationally. I know exactly where to source genuine parts quickly without compromising quality. I also keep a database of reliable vendors, shipping timelines, and availability trends. By planning ahead and maintaining relationships, I minimise delays and ensure authenticity.”
Today, Orola Adémoyèwà Adésọji stands out not only for his technical mastery but also for his discipline, humility, and unwavering dedication to standards. In a market where many luxury car owners struggle to find trustworthy specialists, his approach provides both competence and peace of mind—making him a growing force in Nigeria’s high-end automobile service industry.
