Ossi Grace Set to Release Debut EP “In A Hopeless Place” — A Soulful Ode to Love and Resilience

Fast-rising Nigerian Afro-soul singer, Ossi Grace, is set to captivate audiences once again with the release of her much-anticipated debut EP, “In A Hopeless Place”, dropping on Friday, October 31st.

The 11-track project — a deeply personal and emotionally rich body of work — showcases Ossi’s signature storytelling and velvety vocals that have drawn comparisons to Tracy Chapman. The EP features her previously released fan favourites “Where You Belong”, “Only You”, “FA”, “Ocean”, and her breakout debut single “Reason”.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the project, Ossi Grace described it as a heartfelt reflection on finding light and love in difficult circumstances.

“Nigeria, to many of us, often feels like a hopeless place — the struggle to access even the simplest of things from electricity to a job that can at least put food on the table,” she said. “We spend most of our time hoping things will improve — so when we finally find something good, we hold on to it as tightly as we can. For me, that ‘good something’ is love. I sing about it in the opening track ‘You (Intro)’ — it was like finding a rose sprouting out of a pile of concrete rubble.”

She further shared how her music embodies the spirit of resilience that defines Nigerians everywhere.

“That’s the beauty of being Nigerian – the resilience born from struggle gave me the strength to fight for the love I had discovered. Through this project, I express how I learnt to choose love and let love choose me,” Ossi added.

“In A Hopeless Place” features standout tracks such as “You (Intro)”, “Love Affair”, “FA”, “Fire”, “Ocean”, “Where You Belong”, “I Remember”, “Anywhere”, “Love Like This”, “Reason”, and “Only You”. Each song flows seamlessly into the next, weaving a tapestry of emotion that reflects love’s ability to thrive even in the most challenging times.

Since debuting with “Reason” in 2024, Ossi Grace has been hailed as one of the most promising new voices in the Afro-soul scene, known for her raw lyricism and heartfelt delivery. With “In A Hopeless Place”, she cements her status as an artist unafraid to bare her soul while giving listeners a soundtrack for hope, healing, and love.
