HON. JIM OKOLO INDUCTED AS FELLOW OF THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION OF NIGERIA
Hon. (Dr.) Jim Chimezie Okolo, an accomplished public affairs strategist, governance reform advocate, and one of Nigeria’s most distinguished administrators, has been formally inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (CIPAN).
The recognition came during the Institute’s 25th Anniversary and National Conference, held in Abuja from October 22nd to 24th, 2025, a landmark event that celebrated a quarter-century of promoting professionalism, innovation, and ethical leadership in Nigeria’s public sector.
Themed “Celebrating Our Past, Innovating the Future,” the three-day summit brought together eminent public administrators, policymakers, traditional rulers, and thought leaders across the federation. Hon. Okolo’s investiture as a Fellow followed his distinguished record of service, commitment to institutional reforms, and active contribution to the National Conference of Public Administrators.
His induction underscores a career defined by excellence, integrity, and strategic leadership. Hon. Okolo currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jimez Petroleum Resources Ltd, Founder of the Jim Mezie Foundation, and West Africa Regional Coordinator of the Universal Migration Enlightenment Centre (UMEC). He also holds the position of National Coordinator and Nigeria Country Lead for the Nouvelle Perspective Internationale (NPI), a global election observation and diplomatic mission with ties to the United Nations.
Beyond his professional exploits, Hon. Okolo serves as Chairman of the Governing Council of Bridget University, Mbaise, and has been conferred the title of United Nations Mayor for World Peace. A former senatorial candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Hon. Okolo has over the years demonstrated rare vision, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to good governance and civic transformation.
CIPAN also honoured several prominent figures with Fellowship Awards in recognition of their exceptional leadership and administrative distinction. Among those honoured were Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation; His Excellency Ahmed Aliyu, PhD, Executive Governor of Sokoto State; His Excellency Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State; His Royal Highness Muhammadu Sa’ad III, Sultan of Sokoto; His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr.) Umaru Faruk Bahago, Emir of Minna; and Mr. Imoyen Francis Omonicho, Chief Operating Officer, NNPC Retail Limited, amongst other top government functionaries.
In his address, the President of CIPAN commended the honourees for their outstanding contributions to the modernization of Nigeria’s public administration and their unwavering commitment to ethical governance. The conference featured high-level lectures, policy dialogues, and a commemorative review of CIPAN’s 25-year legacy of service and professional development since its establishment in 2001.
