Nigerian Artist cum Entrepreneur Lagcity Keys Transforms Pain Into Purpose in Upcoming EP

Nigerian artist and entrepreneur David Daukoru, popularly known as Lagcity Keys, is set to make a bold comeback with the release of his deeply personal 10-track EP Too Little, Too Much, scheduled for December 2025.

The project, his most vulnerable work yet, chronicles a journey from addiction to triumph, offering listeners a raw testimony of survival, healing, and rebirth.

For years, the music scene knew Lagcity Keys for his mixtapes, beats, and promise as a rising Afro Hip Hop talent. But behind the spotlight, the artist was locked in a devastating battle with drug addiction—a struggle that silenced his music and nearly consumed his passion. Four years ago, he made the life-changing decision to quit “cold turkey,” focusing instead on his daughter, his family, and rebuilding a future.

“I finally found my victory, trading the chaos for a quiet focus on my family and my healing,” David revealed. “This EP isn’t just music—it’s my story, a testament to the journey from the depths of struggle to the sound of redemption. It’s about an artist who has been living, surviving, building, and is now ready to share it all.”

The forthcoming EP reflects the constant tug-of-war in his life: balancing creative passion with business discipline, confronting past demons while embracing present purpose, and weighing what was lost against what has now been rebuilt.

Already, five singles—Lagos, Dutty, Solid, 4 Wheel, and Overdose—have set the tone for the project, resonating with both loyal fans and new listeners. Each track provides a glimpse into the larger narrative of Too Little, Too Much, from gritty realities to the hard-won celebration of success.

Beyond music, Daukoru has successfully channeled his discipline into entrepreneurship. In 2025, he launched Oddacieux, a luxury streetwear brand blending hip-hop aesthetics with high fashion, and earlier in 2022, he founded Javelincuts, a grooming business that evolved from a mobile barbershop into a thriving e-commerce enterprise.

“My businesses are not a distraction from my music; they are an extension of it,” David explained. “The hustle, the creativity, the passion I pour into Oddacieux and Javelincuts are all part of the same engine that fuels my art. The same strength it took to quit cold turkey and be there for my daughter is what built these brands and this EP.”

With Too Little, Too Much, Lagcity Keys is not just releasing another record—he is delivering an autobiography in sound. The EP invites listeners to walk through his evolution as an artist, father, entrepreneur, and survivor who has turned pain into purpose.

In David’s own words, “This is the sound of an artist refreshed, refocused, and unafraid to share every facet of his journey—from darkness to light, from chaos to purpose, from too little to too much.”

The EP will be released in December 2025 across major streaming platforms.
