Demilola Osinuga Shines as She Graduates from British International School Lagos
It was a moment of pride, joy and celebration as Demilola Adewunmi Osinuga, daughter of multiple award winning luxury real estate expert, Prince Ademola Osinuga, and serial entrepreneur Mrs. Oluwadamilola Osinuga, graduated from the prestigious British International School (BIS), Victoria Island, Lagos.
Demilola’s cognitive growth started by being homeschooled by both her parents from birth until she joined BIS in year 7.
This aided in distinguishing her from her peers both academically and in co-curricular activities, as she proceeded to making her mark as one of the school’s most outstanding students.
Her journey at BIS was marked by several achievements, including serving as Mistress of Ceremonies at the school’s “Music in the Park” event for three consecutive years (2021–2023), receiving the Yoruba Attainment Award in 2021, and clinching the Best overall Student in Year 8 award in 2022.
Her accomplishments also cut across art, music, and sports. She earned recognition in the Manga High competition, received the Religious Education Award in 2023, ranked among the Top 10 Nigerian winners in the Mental Math World Cup, and played active roles in both the school’s orchestra as a guitarist and football team as a goalkeeper.
In 2025, her final year, she received the COBIS Student Achievement Award for her year group in Nigeria and single-handedly spearheaded the establishment of a co-curricular club called “BIS Graphics Design Club”.
Beyond the school walls, Demilola’s versatility is shone through her sailing pursuits at the Lagos Yacht Club, where she and her team secured third place at the Bloomfield LP’s sailing race in 2023. In summer of the same year, She performed an original song titled “Gratitude”, which she composed at age 10, to a live audience of Nigerian and Indian nationals at a cross cultural event held at The Art Of Living(Happiness) Center in Victoria Island Lagos.
Several of her artworks now adorn the halls of BIS, cementing her creative legacy.
Reflecting on her years of hard work, Demilola expressed gratitude for the support she received throughout her journey. “I’m happy that OUR effort has paid off.
By “OUR”, I mean God’s work in my life and my parent’s diligence in raising such a dashing and hardworking young woman, “if I do say so myself”. A special thanks to my past selves for pushing through sleepless nights and multiple identity crises, and to everyone who prayed for me to get this far.
Knowing that God will lead me as I slay through life with aura and grace, gives me the courage to move on. Stay tuned!”
Her name was recently listed on the BIS IGCSE Honours List of 2025, a fitting recognition as she bids farewell to her secondary school journey and looks forward to future academic pursuits.
