Procurement Act: HOSTCON YOUTH COUNCIL hails NDDC’s Doodei Week over professionalism, service delivery

The National Leadership of the Host Communities Producing Oil, Gas and Pipeline Impacted States Youth Council of Nigeria (HOSTCON YOUTH COUNCIL), together with its Board of Trustees (BoT), has commended Chief Dr. Week Doodei PhD for his display of professionalism, transparency and dedication as the Director of Procurement at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The group described his efforts and expertise as pivotal to the transformation of the Niger Delta region by the Commission.
The National President of the HOSTCON Youth Council Of Nigeria, Snr. Comr. EMMANUEL FIAWEI PATHFINDER, in a statement issued on Wednesday and made available to newsmen via electronic mail, extolled Doodei’s leadership qualities, professionalism, commitment and dedication, noting that his transparency and adherence to the implementation of the Procurement Act have set a new standard in award of contract under the administration of Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku at the NDDC.
According to the group, Doodei’s prudent management of resources and forthright approach to procurement have ensured that contracts are awarded strictly on merit with compliance to the Procurement Act and competence, thereby, boosting transparency, accountability with timely delivery of projects with trust in the Commission’s operations.
Meanwhile, the group argued that ongoing reforms at the Commission have not only enhanced credibility but also ensured that contractors deliver projects on schedule, bringing visible development to host communities across the nine Niger Delta states.
The Council further decried past practices of not adherence to full implementation to the procurement act hindered growth and developmental stride in the region, stating that Doodei’s tenure as Director of Procurement has marked a clear departure from such inefficiencies in service delivery in the Commission.
It stated that his interventions have strengthened the rural economy, with projects spanning education, healthcare, lightning up of electricity projects, agriculture, roads, and empowerment initiatives with training and re training of the commission staffs back to back has enhanced speedy execution of projects in the region, with Traditional rulers openly commend the Chief Dr Doodei Week positive initiatives for changing their communities in the region.
Highlighting his role during the 2022 flood crisis, HOSTCON noted that Doodei Week coordinated the distribution of palliatives to affected communities in Bayelsa State, working closely with local representatives to ensure relief materials reached those most in need.
The Council stressed that under Doodei’s stewardship as Director of Procurement in line with the laudable and transformational programme and reforms of the MD/CEO of the commission, Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku’s watch has regained its reputation as a credible interventionist agency of the Federal Government.
It explained that his emphasis on accountability transparency and competence has set a benchmark for both contractors and Commission staff, while also contributing to the successful execution of critical infrastructural projects delivery and social development programmes.
“We want to unequivocally state that the National Leadership of HOSTCON Youth Council, together with its BoT, are solidly behind Chief Dr. Week Doodei, PhD achievements that have tremendously transformed the region, and we pledge to work with him to ensure this standard is sustained for the benefit of host communities,” the statement read in part.
The group also commended the leadership of the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, for selfless service and project deliveries across the nine Niger Delta states. Similarly, it hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku as the MD/CEO of NDDC, a vibrant foresighted visionary leadership that has reshaped, repositioned and transformed the region from transaction to human capital infrastructural developmental giant of transformation in the NDDC, noting that host communities are already feeling.
The National leadership of the Host Communities Producing Oil Gas and Pipeline Impacted States Youth Council of Nigeria, (HOSTCON YOUTH COUNCIL) also commended the visionary leadership of the NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The HOSTCON YOUTH COUNCIL described Ogbuku’s leadership style as selfless, service delivery, dedication and redefining the region developmental stride and timely project execution across the nine Niger Delta states.
The group also hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment of Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku as the MD/CEO of NDDC, describing it as a well deserved one,affirming that the Dr. Samuel Ogbuku appointment is that of a round peg in round hole,l. Kk
“Dr. Samuel Ogbuku-led leadership at the NDDC is that of a vibrant, foresighted and visionary leadership that has reshaped, repositioned and transformed the region from transaction to human capital infrastructural and developmental strides of transformation in the Commission.
