Mutfwang Condoles Yilwatda over Mother’s Death
Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has sympathised with the National Chairman of the APC Prof NentaweYilwatda over the passing of his mother, Mrs Lynda Yilwatda, who died at the age of 83.
Mutfwang, who was at Yilwatda’s residence, urged him to take solace in the Lord and in the enduring legacies of fairness, justice, and compassion Mama Lydia exemplified, describing her as a virtuous woman of uncommon faith, courage, and simplicity, who dedicated her life to raising godly children now making positive contributions to humanity.
“For us, the death of any mother on the Plateau is a loss to all of us. We take comfort in the fact that Mama lived a worthy life. She served the Lord alongside her husband and, even after his passing, continued faithfully in God’s service. My prayer always is that we should be the ones to bury our parents, and not the other way round,” he said.
He extolled deceased’s resilience, kindness, strength, love, and sacrifices, noting that her passing at a time when Yilwatda shoulders enormous national responsibilities leaves a great void.
The governor, on behalf of his family, government, and the good people of the state extended heartfelt condolences to Yilwatda, his siblings, and the entire Yilwatda family, praying God to grant them the strength and comfort to bear the loss.
Responding, Yilwatda expressed deep gratitude to the governor for visiting, describing it as a great source of comfort. He eulogised his late mother as a symbol of resilience, faith, and compassion, who devoted her life to raising her seven children in the fear of God and instilling in them values that continue to guide their lives.
He said the family takes consolation in the fact that Mama served the Lord faithfully and left behind a lasting legacy that would continue to shine brightly.
