IA-Foundation Visits Makoko Community, Identifies Out-of-School Children for Enrolment
Non-Governmental Organisation, IA-Foundation has stormed Makoko community for identification and immediate enrolment of currently out of school children in Makoko Community for its 2025/2026 Bursary Programme.
Explaining what transpired during the visit, The Founder, Mrs Ibironke Adeagbo said both adults and children were interacted with in a bid to assess the educational status of young residents in the community.
She pointed out that the identified out-of-school children were asked to introduce the team to their parents or guardians for further discussion.
Adeagbo stated that the identified and qualified out-of-school children were documented for further evaluation and enrollment for the next academic session.
This was just as the Founder noted that the visit underlined the organisation’s commitment towards ensuring that neither poverty nor circumstance blocks any child from being educated.
Ibironke assured following up with selected families, close contact with community leaders to ensure proper enrolment of the selected children into school.
“The IA-Foundation team moved through the community, interacting with both adults and children to assess the educational status of young residents.
“Children who disclosed they were not currently enrolled in school were asked to introduce the team to their parents or guardians for further discussion.
“The team gathered vital information about the children’s backgrounds, including their age, the last class attended, and reasons for dropping out of school. Many of the stories shared were deeply emotional and highlighted the critical need for continued intervention.
“From the pool of children identified, those who met the bursary programme’s selection criteria were documented for further evaluation and possible enrollment for the next academic session.
“This visit underscores IA-Foundation’s unwavering commitment to its vision: a Nigeria where no child is left behind because of poverty or circumstance.
“The Foundation will continue to follow up with the selected families, working closely with community leaders to ensure that these children can begin or resume their education come the 2025/2026 school year.” She said
