How my late father prayed for me to be a star in Nollywood – Star Actress, Benita Onyiuke

After 7 years of losing her father, Nollywood star actress, Benita Onyiuke recounts how her father prayed for her to be a star of all stars in Nollywood industry.

Unlike many Nigerian parents, Onyiuke’s father registered her at Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) when she was growing up.

The award winning lead actress in English with Nigeria’s Achievers Award went down memory lane, “I dedicated to my father and my husband. Growing up l know how much after he registered me in Actors Guild of Nigeria, I know how much he always prepared for me and anointed me, declaring that l’m going to be a star of all stars. It’s so sad that we lost him 7 years ago and he couldn’t be here to witness this turn around in my career and the place of recognition. I wish he was really here to witness the level l’ve reached.

Onyiuke expressed gratitude to her teeming fans who are proud of her acting prowess in many movie where staring movies like ‘Love in full bloom’, ‘My kind of girl’, ‘True bosses’, ‘Tender hedges’ among others.

Commenting further on both international and national awards, the amazing actress said: “In 2020, I was nominated for a screen award for break out actress of the year. I have also received best actress ina leading role for the movie “Perfect Plan” in 2023 for Nigeria’s Achievers Award.
