Many Christians celebrate Easter Sunday as the day of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, which is written in the New Testament of the Bible. According to the Gospel of John in the New Testament, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb where Jesus was buried and found it empty. An angel told her that Jesus had risen.
Easter Sunday marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ after being crucified. According to the New Testament, Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion, for claiming to be the ‘Son of God.’
While churches are being decked up to celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection, children and adults are all set to exchange gifts while weeklong festivities ring in the holiday spirit, with mass prayers beginning on Good Friday and concluding on Easter Sunday. This year, the day falls on April 17th.
Hence, to join the rest of the world in celebrating the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, the Egbere Emere Okori 1 and Oneh Eh Nchia X of Eleme Kingdom, HRH Appolus Chu will play host to the entire Eleme community during a special Eater fiesta tagged, “Unique Easter Thanksgiving Programme of the People”.
Scheduled to hold 12noon on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at the Okori Playground, opposite the King’s palace, Ogale, Eleme, Rivers State, the event is expected to be graced by all sons and daughters of Eleme as well as the general public.
Speaking on the essence of the thanksgiving event, HRH Chu noted that the occasion aims to join the world to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus after the angels rolled the stone away from his grave three days after his crucifixion on the Cross.
