Convention: APC Govs Ready to Support any Process Leading to Adoption of Consensus Candidates

The 22 governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the aegis of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) Wednesday declared their readiness to support any process leading to the adoption of concensus candidates ahead of the national convention of the party on Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Addressing newsmen at the end of a close-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, the Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, said the APC governors are ready to back any procedure that will eventually produce consensus candidates for the convention. 
Bagudu, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, added that the governors are ready to also support candidates President Buhari want to run the national secretariat of the party.
The president had last month said he was in favour of the consensus mode for selecting candidates for the party’s national positions.

He then urged the governors to explore the option of consensus.
