Sen Okonkwo Commends Anambra Govt over Airport Construction

Senator Annie Okonkwo has commended the State Government over the construction of the new Cargo Airport.

Okonkwo, who represented Anambra Central in the Senate, described the airport project as timely, saying it would impact positively on the economic development of the state.

According to the senator, Anambra citizens travel the most in the southeast region. “With the constitution of the international passenger and cargo airport, the issue of unemployment, youth restiveness, stress suffered by citizens to go through the Asaba, Owerri, and Enugu airports will be gone.”

He also pointed out that the investment in air transport infrastructure has proven not to be a bad idea. “It serves as a major source for crucial development drivers, bringing both economic and social benefits to the state and the region at large.”

The senator further highlighted that the state airport is already creating jobs since it was constructed.

Okonkwo expressed: “I am personally delighted and commend the former Governor, Willie Obiano, over this gigantic project.”
