One Suspect Arrested as Military Investigates Abduction of Bayelsa SSG ‘s Mother

One suspect has been arrested in the investigation into the abduction of Madam Bentinal Benson, the 90-year old Mother of the Secretary to the State Government, Kombowei Benson.
This is as the troops of the Nigerian Army has taken over the investigation leading to the arrest of a 27-year old suspect, Mr. Stanley Woniowei, an indigene of Olugbobiri community in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.
Our correspondent gathered that the Nigerian Army troops from 16 Brigade were leading a joint operation with other security agencies in the state to rescue the abducted 90 years old victim.
Investigations showed that the arrested suspect was allegedly involved in connection with the abduction on July 20 at the Old State Legislators Quartersm, Off Azikoro Road in Ekeki area of the state.
Meanwhile, the operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested a 20-year old notorious cultist, Justice Egbo, after a tip-off from members of the vigilante of Otuasega Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the suspect, who is a notorious member of the dreaded Bobos cult group, was arrested yesterday at about 7 p.m. at Otuasega.
The Spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the development in a statement in Yenagoa.
Butswat said: “He has confessed to being a member of Bobos cult group and he is assisting the police with vital information on other suspected members.”
The Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, C.P. Echeng E. Echeng, has ordered for discreet investigation and upon conclusion, the case would be charged to court.
