Herbert: Passionate About Raising the Next Generation of Youtubers

At first glance it is easy to be cynical of what a 20-year-old can offer to a generation coming after them, but Moritz Herbert is not your typical 20-year-old, the German has gone through a multitude of experiences as a young man that position him as an authority of in the gaming and YouTube world.
After returning from a trip abroad in 2012, he decided to watch gaming videos online in the hopes of recreating them on his own page. Inspired by what he saw and seduced my Minecraft, Herbert started making his own videos. “I made and uploaded my first ever YouTube video, which is a Minecraft tutorial video, on the 30/06/2012, in 2019 I got this date tatted on my leg in Los Angeles, since it’s the real start of my journey,” Herbert shares. “The start was very slow, and I tried different things till in 2015 I started taking YouTube very seriously and uploaded videos about Clash of Clans every day.”
From there, he dropped out of school to focus on his new passion, putting in the work to reach a wider audience. In 2016, four years after he had started to post his videos, he got a big break. “My breakthrough came around 6 months later when in the start of 2016 a new mobile game Clash Royale was released,” Herbert explained. “At this time I was very deep into mobile games and I was able to be the best player in the world for around 3 months after launch, during this time my channel blew up and grew to 430,000 subscribers at its peak in 2017.”
Since then, he has tried his hands at a variety of other fields like crypto currency, linking in with his passion for documentation by sharing tutorials on YouTube, but overall his passion is sharing his knowledge with others. “I have been on an amazing winning streak sharing everything I do for free on my YouTube channel,” he said. “Just in the beginning of 2021 I had my biggest trade ever and was able to reach a total profit of 2.6 million dollar in only 4 days and I live stream it all on my channel.”
