RCCG Charges Youths on Productivity

The Redeemed Christian Church of God Lagos Province 44 has reiterated its readiness to continuously invest in youths development and empowerment activities, saying such actions will bring out the best in Nigeria’s future leaders and make them more focused to achieve their dreams and ambitions.

Pastor in Charge of Lagos Province 44, Pastor Amos Emovon who stated this in Lagos, noted that such investment which also aimed at curbing crime in the society, is the Church’s response through its corporate social responsibility platform to arrest the malaise.
Emovon, speaking during the final of the Pastor Amos Youth Football Competition said the CSR initiative would help the youths to fulfill their potentials. The event, according to him, was in alignment with the evangelical and youth empowerment drive of the Mission, as a CSR Initiative, to harness the innate talents of youths around the over 140 Parishes in the Province and provide an enabling environment for the fulfillment of their passion and potential.

He listed previous mega CSR interventions of the Province to include supply of medical equipment to Randle Children Hospital, equipping and inauguration of an ICT Laboratory for Aguda Junior Grammar School, renovation and donation of security equipment to Four Divisional Police Stations in Surulere, renovation of the dining hall, kitchen and boys hostel of Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment Home, provision of exercise books, science text books to Epetedo High School, skills acquisition and empowerment of over 200 unemployed/underemployed people and Donation of neo-natal equipment to Massey Street Children Hospital.
Others include eye testing, provision of glasses and surgery for the elderly around Lagos Island, provision of boreholes to several communities, provision of street light, monthly feeding within the province communities, various medical/health awareness interventions and others.

The Special Guest of honor, Pastor Brown Oyitso who is the Special Assistant to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (SATGO) on Missions and the Pastor in Charge of Region 19, commended the Province for identifying this great need and for the efforts geared towards satisfying it.

“We strongly believe that through this effort, hope is gradually being restored to the desperate, despairing, despondent, disheartened, and depressed youths within the neighborhood of our Province, who would rather engage themselves in drugs and other nefarious and reprehensible activities that has ruined most lives, too numerous to mention,” he said.
