Dalyboy Belgason Earns Nod at 2015 San Diego Black Film Festival

Filmmaker and actor Dalyboy Belgason continues to make waves on the international stage as his film Heart Breakers Revenge (Ex Games) secures a nomination in the Best Movie category at the 2015 San Diego Black Film Festival. The announcement marks another remarkable achievement for Belgason, whose work has consistently pushed the boundaries of African diaspora storytelling.
Now in its 14th year, the San Diego Black Film Festival is one of the largest and longest-running Black film festivals in the United States. This year’s edition is set to take place from January 29 to February 1, across various prestigious venues, including the Reading Cinemas in the Gaslamp Quarter and the ArcLight Cinemas in La Jolla.
Heart Breakers Revenge (Ex Games), which Dalyboy wrote, produced, and starred in, has already gained attention for its compelling narrative centered around love, deception, and second chances. The film also features an impressive ensemble cast, including Van Vicker, Brittany Mayti, Billy Williams, and Sarodj Bertin.
Reacting to the nomination, Dalyboy expressed his excitement and gratitude, stating, “It’s an honor to have our work recognized on such a respected platform. This nomination is for every creative working tirelessly to tell diverse, authentic stories.”
The San Diego Black Film Festival has long served as a platform for Black filmmakers to showcase their talent and share culturally significant stories. Dalyboy’s nomination positions him among this year’s standout storytellers to watch.
