APPOEMN Trains Members on First Aid, CPR Techniques

The Association of Professional Party organiser and Event Managers of Nigeria (APPOEMN) has successfully concluded a comprehensive First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), training program tailored specifically for event professionals.

This was disclosed in a statement released and signed by the Public Relations Director, APPOEMN, Sakirat Bello.

According to the statement, the training, held in Lagos, aimed to equip participants with essential life-saving skills crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of attendees at events of all scales.

It noted that the training, led by certified instructors with extensive experience in emergency response, covers a wide range of topics, including basic first aid techniques, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, and emergency response protocols.

It also noted that through hands-on demonstrations and interactive sessions, participants gained practical knowledge and confidence in managing medical emergencies effectively.

According to the President of the association, Olufunbi Akinyosoye, the training sessions were specifically designed to address the unique challenges faced by event professionals, such as managing crowds, identifying potential hazards, and coordinating with emergency services.

“Participants learned how to assess situations quickly, prioritize care, and respond decisively to medical incidents, thus enhancing the overall safety and security of events,” Akinyosoye said in the statement.

Commenting the Education Director of the Association, Funmi Latunji-Oni, said,”We are thrilled to have facilitated this specialized training program for event professionals.

“In the dynamic environment of event management, having the skills to respond promptly and effectively to medical emergencies is paramount. This training empowers professionals to act as first responders, potentially saving lives and ensuring the success of events,” Oni said.

However, according to the statement, “Attendees expressed appreciation for the practical nature of the training and its relevance to their roles in event planning and execution. The program received positive feedback for its comprehensive curriculum, engaging delivery, and real-world scenarios that mirrored the challenges encountered in event settings.

‘APPOEMN remains committed to promoting safety and professionalism within the event industry. As part of its ongoing efforts, the association plans to offer regular First Aid and CPR training sessions tailored to the needs of event professionals.”
