NSA to Deliver Convocation Lecture at Sokoto Varsity, as 167 Students Bag First Class

The National Security Adviser (NSA) Mallam Nuhu Ribadu on Thursday will deliver Convocation Lecture at Usman DanFodio University, Sokoto ( UDUS) .

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Bilbis Lawal made the disclosure on Monday at Ahmodu Bello Senate chamber while briefing journalists to herald the convocation.

Bilbis explained that some eminent Nigerians will receive awards at the 38th, 39th, 40th and 41st convocation of the school .

He further disclosed that the topic of the convocation lecture was “Navigating the Maze: Addressing Multi-Dimensional Security Challenges in Northern Nigeria”

He stated that about 167 students would be awarded first class at the convocation while about 22,932 students are expected to participate in the 38th, 39th, 40th and 41st convocation ceremony of the institution.

The Vice Chancellor who congratulated the graduands noted that 18,644 graduands will receive various bachelor’s degrees, 427 diploma and certificates and the remaining 4, 288 graduating students will receive various certificate of higher degrees.

He further added that there will be convocation debate, and drama by the University students on Tuesday, followed by novelty football match between the University students and the staff on Wednesday.

He said Saturday will be the grand finale with the presentation of prizes , award of higher degrees and conferment of honorary degrees.
