“I worked in the bank for so many years,” says Maureen, who left her banking career in 2019. As an ex-banker, Maureen brings her strong work ethic and dedication to her new venture. “I served in Jos during my NYSC at Access bank and later worked with First Bank Nigeria Ltd in Abuja.”

Maureen earned her first degree in Mass Communication from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. A member of CIBN, lLRM , Institute of loan and risk management Nigeria, Associate Member of National institute of Marketing of NIMN, she has expanded her expertise in all areas.

“I have had the privilege of living and working in some parts of Nigeria, travelled to Amsterdam, United Kingdom and Dublin Ireland” Maureen reflects on her extensive travels within and outside the country.

While working in the banking industry, Maureen’s love for pleasant fragrances never waned. “I couldn’t resist buying home fragrances whenever I visited a store,” she confesses. It was this passion that eventually led her to exit the banking world and follow her dreams.

In 2019, Maureen took the bold step of leaving her banking career behind to pursue her passion fully. Didis Discount was born from the comfort of her own home, and it quickly gained recognition as a go-to destination for quality home fragrances and curated gifts.

But Didis Discount is not just about fragrances and gifts; it’s about fostering relationships through quality and thoughtful gifting. With their gift wrapping services, they add a touch of elegance to every gift, as Maureen shares, “We add a touch of elegance to every gift wrapped by Didi.”

And they are taking it a step further with their current project – setting up a gift wrapping academy. This innovative approach reflects their commitment to excellence in every aspect of their business.

Significant clients like Grup ARESA Internacional have trusted Didis Discount with their gifting needs for years. Maureen proudly mentions, “We have been handling their gifting needs for 3 years now, Credent Financials for 4 years, Kiwi Engineering company, and some individuals.”

Moreover, Didis Discount is also looking inward, exploring the use of locally made trunk boxes for gift packaging. Maureen is excited about this project, stating, “Didi’s boxes will be out soon, adding an extra layer of uniqueness to our offerings.”

This journey of success and transformation wouldn’t have been possible without Maureen’s supportive husband and three kids, who work as a team to ensure the business thrives even in her absence. Maureen fondly recalls her husband’s architectural skills coming into play when he crafted bows and designs for a client’s gift.
