Enyimba Secures N100m Two-year Deal with United Nig

Following his determination to take Enyimba FC to the pinnacle of Nigeria and African football, former Super Eagles Captain, Kanu Nwankwo has scored yet another milestone to that direction.

The Arsenal FC legend made the milestone official yesterday at the corporate office of the United Nigeria Arline where the official signing  of the N100 million two years worth sponsorship deal with one of the leading airline in Nigeria was done.

In his speech during the signing ceremony, Kanu expressed delight over the deal and that of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, whom he said would have loved to be part of the epoch making event being the first time Enyimba would have such experience.

“United Nigeria Airlines has set the pace in uniting Nigerians with their services using the most uniting factor, football.

“I hope other airlines in the country can emulate this as it is very vital for the clubs and our league considering what has happened to Sunshine Stars FC and others recently.

“In Enyimba we are trying our best to change the narrative and this deal is very key to the way we are moving as the news has delighted the team especially propelling and motivating our players to  give their best for ultimate result,” Kanu Said.

Earlier in his own address, the Chairman of United Nigeria Airline, Prof Obiora Okonkwo while recalling how Kanu and his Super Eagles colleagues made him have his happiest moment in life during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games in USA as well as his worst moment also during USA ‘94 World Cup loss against Italy.

While congratulating Kanu on his appointment as the Chairman of Enyimba he commended the State Governor, Dr Otti putting a round peg in a round whole.

Okonkwo however observed that the appointment will come with challenges and sacrifice but was quick to say that that’s organizations like United Nigeria Arline are they to help make the job easy. He noted that it is because of Kanu his organisation entered the deal and that it is just the beginning of many more to come.

“He said that United Nigeria Arline flies to unite Nigerians especially through football by flying Enyimba players and helping easy their stress.

Highlight of the event was the official signing of the deal by Mr Linus Awute, United Nigeria Arline Director of Admin and a Board member of Enyimba FC who also doubles as the club Lawyer, Mr. Collins Chijioke while a one time minister, Prof Oliseh Metu witnessed the event commending the marriage between both parties.
