Bakare Urges Christians to Embrace Three Dimensions of Harvest

Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), emphasized the need for Christians to understand the concept of harvest.

He spoke during the second-anniversary celebration of The Envoy Nation church in Leicester, United Kingdom, led by founding pastors, Dele and Morin Osunmakinde.

He encouraged believers to shift their focus from toiling for blessings through sweat and instead pray to God to reveal the fields He has blessed.

Accompanied by his wife, Olayide, Bakare spoke at the “Harvest Summit” themed programme and shared his perspective on God’s original plan for humanity.

He suggested that working hard and earning a living through sweat might inadvertently invoke the curse placed on Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Bakare explained, “If you are conscious of ‘I must work hard, I must eat from the sweat of my brow,’ you are placing a curse on yourself because sweat reminds God of the curse. Man did not have to sweat until he fell.”

He further emphasized that every harvest involves three dimensions. In the first, individuals sow seeds and directly enjoy the results of their labour. The second dimension entails some individuals benefiting from the efforts of others, much like the principle illustrated in John 4 when Jesus encouraged His disciples to reap fields they didn’t sow. In the third and unique dimension, angels play the role of precise reapers, managing burdens beyond human capacity.

Bakare said every harvest requires a seed, and the quality and quantity of the seed determine the harvest’s outcome.

He urged Christians to offer meaningful sacrifices to God, emphasizing that mere token gestures, like tipping, might not yield the desired results.

“The reason you don’t know you are giving anything to God is because you tip him. David said I will never give anything to God that will cost me nothing.”

Understanding these three dimensions of harvest, he emphasized, is crucial for a fruitful and prosperous Christian life.
