The Olu of Aaye Community in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Akinola Sunday, has appealed to government at all levels and corporate organisations to help in providing infrastructure and other social amenities in his domain.

Oba Akinola stated this yesterday while speaking with journalists in the community on the occasion of his one year anniversary.

He appealed to the Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), and the federal government to consider his community ripe for Primary Health Care Centre and primary school in view of its population and size.

He said: “We don’t have Primary Health Care centre as well as primary and secondary school here, and I have been speaking with stakeholders but I am yet to see positive result. However, I thank God that there is a private higher institution here, Millennium School of Health Technology. So, I thank God so far.

“The first priority that should be addressed is basic health care for Aaye community because when people visit there, they can be adequately taken care of. There are lots of people living at the remote end of this community, some of them are pregnant and they find it difficult to access health care.”

Oba Akinola, who admitted that the state government could not provide all the necessary facilities needed by his people, appealed to corporate organisations, particularly telecoms companies to incorporate the community in their 2024 budget for corporate social responsibilities (CSR).

The monarch suggested that the corporate organisations could intervene in education, health, agriculture and sports sectors.

“I give thanks to the Almighty God for spearing our lives and making my community a peaceful place. Without God, we can’t do anything.

“Today makes it one year that the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, made me the Olu of Aaye community in Akure. Since I came on board, the community has been moving from strength to strengthen. When I came on board, there was cases of herdsmen/farmers clashes but immediately, I swung into action, I called everybody to order,” he stressed.

The community leader also called on sons and daughters of Aaye community and concerned stakeholders to take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere of the community to invest in the locality.

“I urged sons and daughters of this community to come together in unison. Aaye is a big community bounded by Ilekun, Imafon and Afu. We now have an LCDA, it is worthy of praise. I am optimistic that the community will continue to thrive. I call on sons and daughters of this community home and away to come and invest in the community. We have lots of land,” he added.
