Zamson Oil and Gas Donates 100 Bags of Rice to Sokoto Orphanage

As part of his corporate social responsibility and in a bid to put smiles on the faces of less privileged and vulnerable citizens,  the Managing Director of Zamson Oil and Gas,  Zayyanu Musa Bashar, has donated 100 bags of rice to Sokoto orphanage.

Bashar said that the gesture was as a result of an earlier appeal made by Governor Ahmed Aliyu for well to do individuals in the state to assist orphans.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the governor of Sokoto State, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Mr. Aminu Haliru Dikko, commended the donor for the benevolence gesture. He called on other well-meaning citizens to donate generously to the orphanage.

He said: “These children are ours, so we need to collectively take care of them.” 

The chief of staff further charged the management of the orphanage to ensure the proper utilisation of the food items.

He also restated government’s determination to continue to ensure the welfare of the orphans.

Earlier, the representative of the Managing Director, Khairu Abdullahi, said that the gesture was part of their effort to assist the needy in the state.

He added that Zamson Oil and Gas firm has for long been rendering humanitarian support to vulnerables and the needy in the state.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Social Welfare, Ms. Amina Muhammed Jekada, thanked the donor for his assistance, and assured effective utilisation of the food item.
