Until recently, all was thought to be well within the family of a former Super Eagles’ captain, Nwankwo Kanu.
But the news emanating from the family is such that may inspire a Nollywood movie producer, as some of the family members are reportedly at each other’s jugular.
The war, it was gathered, is between the former Arsenal striker’s wife, Amara, and his younger brother, Ogbonna Kanu, a former defender with Sparta Rotterdam and Owerri Stampede.
Things got to a head recently when both took to the social media to express their grievances over what our source described as a “compounding vexation.â€
The mother of three and her brother-in-law have not been on talking terms for many years, and all entreaties to resolve the issue have failed.
Amara is said to be angry with Ogbonna’s attitude of meddling in her domestic affairs.
It was also gathered that Ogbonna’s wife, Laura Ikeji, is also not on talking terms with Amara.
One can only hope that the warring family members will sheathe their swords and allow peace to reign, especially as it was gathered that Kanu (Amara’s husband) is most worried about the unfortunate development.
