Leadway Assurance Partners ART X Lagos on Art Fair

Leadway Assurance Limited, is partnering ART X Lagos in sponsoring the forth coming second edition of the ART X Lagos Art Fair which has been designed to bring together lovers of arts from across West Africa.

The exhibition, which is set to hold from Friday, November 3 to Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Lagos, will feature over 60 artists from 14 countries across Africa and the Diaspora.

Speaking on the exhibition, the Executive Director, Leadway Assurance Ms. Adetola Adegbayi, said Leadway’s partnership with Art X Lagos, underscores the organisation’s commitment to promoting the creative energy of African artists and strengthening the growth of the Art industry in general,

Adegbayi, at the unveiling of the participating exhibitors, artists and sponsors for the Art X 2017, said the three-day event will feature artists from Africa and the Diaspora, who are keen to display their creativity and works.

According to her, the event, will also feature specially curated projects, a programme of talks, the ART X Prize, and a music show – ART X Live!
She said the opening event, which will hold November 3, will feature on invitation, only VIP Preview, followed by the art fair which will be open to the public from Saturday 4th to Sunday 5th of November 2017.
She said Leadway is committed to promoting art and culture in the country.

“At Leadway Assurance, we understand that the creative industry is a very key component of our socio-economic wellbeing and as such we are committed to promoting the visibility of the African innovative spirit, her creativity and industry exhibited through the arts,” she stated.

Adegbayi, speaking on Leadway’s role in the exhibition, reiterated that Leadway Assurance has consistently remained front row players in the promotion of creativity in Nigeria, partnering with 13 affiliates of the Nollywood Creative Industry earlier this year by providing group life insurance coverage for registered members.

Also speaking, Founder & Director, ART X Lagos, Tokini Peterside, said ART X Lagos, is West African’s premier international art fair designed to showcase the best and most innovative contemporary art from the African continent and Diaspora, and to widen Nigeria’s connection to the art scene across Africa and internationally.
According to him, the 2016 debut of the fair received wide attendance, having in participation over 5,000 people from the Nigerian and international art scene.

He said ARTX Lagos, is an African platform for African artists, on the African continent, adding “we celebrate artists, art students, scholars, collectors, art professionals and art lovers, who are playing a fair role in the growth of African economies, which are now among the fastest-growing in the world. This invaluable contribution of the art sector to our continent’s development is what ART X Lagos seeks to highlight and to reinforce through our annual art fair.”

According to him, this year, the exhibition is billed to feature 13 exhibition galleries from Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Cameroon, South Africa and United Kingdom.
