Atiku Dissociates Self from Article on Kanu

A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has dissociated himself from an opinion article titled: ‘IPOB: Loathe or love Kanu, he has fought better – Atiku’ purportedly written and signed by him.

The chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) said in a statement by his Media Office that the article, which started as the handiwork of mischief makers and their sponsors bent on tarnishing his reputation, was first noticed on chat rooms.

He stated that having found its way on the website of a reputable newspaper which obviously fell victim to the evil work of the scammers, his media office is compelled to respond and to state that the article in circulation is unknown to Atiku Abubakar or Atiku Media Office.

The former vice president said he never signed any opinion article with that title in circulation, adding that this is the handiwork of evil people and their cowardly sponsors aimed at soiling his reputation and his political standing;

The statement, which was signed by Atiku’s Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe further stated that the article signposts a wicked and deliberate plot to unleash media attack on him with a view to portraying him in bad light and described it as classical Fake News.

He urged Nigerians and the reading public to discountenance the article and to be vigilant as more of such diabolical stuff are underway.
