Police Appoints Ogunsan Chair of Campaign Against Cultism, Other Vices 

In a bid to curb cultism and other vices, the Nigeria Police Force has appointed a renowned security expert, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, as the Lagos State Chairman for Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV).

Ogunsan who is a member, Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), will oversee a series of campaigns against the menace of cultism and related reprehensible activities predominant among youths in Lagos State.

In an official letter signed by National Coordinator of POCACOV, Ogunsan is charged with the responsibility of working with officers and men of the force to curb the menace of cultism and its related vices, having been deemed eminently qualified due to his pedigree, experience and impact in community-based policing.

“On behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, I am pleased to convey to you your appointment as the Lagos State Chairman for Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV).

“Sequel to a thorough review of your qualification, pedigree, experience, and dedication to public service, we are confident that you wil make an unprecedented valuable contribution to POCACOV. Your responsibilities in this role will include but not limited to presiding and overseeing the activities of POCACOV initiatives within Lagos State alongside the Police Coordinator. 

“You are responsible to the leadership of POCACOV while facilitating the effectiveness of the Crime Prevention Steering Group (CPSG), in achieving the objectives of POCACOV in the State, as well, by working closely with various stakeholders to promote community-oriented policing and combat crime effectively through preventive policing techniques.

“Your outstanding contributions and dedication to enhancing internal security mechanism for the nation will be instrumental in achieving our objectives and ensuring the success of this vital program. In due course, the date for the inauguration of State Chairmen nationwide by the Police High Command will be communicated to you soonest,” the statement reads.
