Having achieved a meaningful 2023 in his music career, Nigerian musician and musicologist Kolawole Ojeleke Olayinka, who is known as Zion Century has left no one in doubt that 2024 will certainly be a year of multiple accomplishments for him in his music career, as he builds on his 2023 accomplishments of performing on the international scene at the biggest music event in Gambia and also releasing his music single titled: blessings.
No doubt, Zion Century has consistently paid his dues in the music industry through his record label, Zion Century Records since 2012 when he returned to Nigeria, and released his first music single titled “Overload”, in which he featured Jaykey and Ichaba, since then, he has not looked back, as he banked on the experience he garnered in Cape Town, South Africa where he ran a record studio and produced many songs for both notable and upcoming music acts.
Banking on his experience in the music industry and his network, having worked with notable music acts such as Zlatan Ibile,Wale Turner, Dremo, Ichaba and others, Zion Century is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring he experiences an amazing music career in 2024, as plans are already in the pipeline for the establishment of a new record label by the artiste, he also plans to bring in new music talents that are more than capable into the fold of the new record label to ensure the record label hits the ground running.
In his own words, he said: “There are lots of music talents out there waiting for opportunities to belong to the right record label and have access to being in the right music environment that will provide the right structure in terms of human and material resources they require to lift their music career and achieve meaningfully, I believe I am in position to create such opportunities they desire for them, therefore I am putting in place the enabling facilities and environment for the new record label to stand out among record labels.”
Going further, he not only harped on why he is establishing a new record label, but he went on to provide insight into his other plans for his music career in 2024, he said: “I will definitely engage in music performances on the home front in Nigeria this year, but that will not be all, as there are plans for me to perform my music in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, France and Netherlands.
“Obviously, Zion Century will have his table full on the home-front and international scene in 2024 given his laudable ambitions, but, his past antecedents in the music world as a musician, musicologist, music producer and record label owner certainly proves he has the wherewithal to deliver to the satisfaction of music lovers and the music industry.”
