In a bid to alleviate economic challenges faced by its members amidst rising costs of living, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Overcomers Assembly, Region 31 Headquarters, has birthed a new initiative tagged, ‘Anointed Family Market’, which would be a weekly subsidised market initiative.
The initiative aimed at providing essential groceries and food items at affordable prices was officially launched last Sunday, with appreciation by church members who got the opportunity to purchase items at subsidised rates.

The initiative, spearheaded by the church leadership, Pastor-in-charge of the Region 31, Pastor Joseph Adeyokunmu, would be offering a wide range of products including yam, spaghetti, rice, garri, noddles and a few other options.
“Leveraging support by some of its members and other stakeholders, Overcomers Assembly is able to secure these items and sell to church members at 70 per cent off its actual market rates.”

Adeyokunmu further explained that, “The inspiration for the Anointed Family Market actually came from the word of God in Matthew 25 vs 1 – 30. And this made us look into the hardship in the land and we as children of God we need to lead by example and let the people know that the church is a place where the love of Christ is. Most importantly we see people and those in the government do 50% off but we the Government of the Lord Jesus Christ can do better. So we decided to do 70 per cent subsidy for commodities such as rice, garri, noddles and some other foods items.”
