As part of an innovative drive to improve healthcare delivery in Nigeria, the World Health Organization (WHO) is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN).
The MoU is to facilitate the execution of a collaborative project that will see to the establishment of at least one global standard Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in each of Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.
A statement signed by the Managing Director of PSHAN, Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe said the objective of the initiative is to leverage the strengths and resources of both partners to address pressing health challenges and improve health out comes across the country.
“This is a project collaboration signing ceremony between the WHO and PSHAN. This collaborative project aims to establish at least one globally standard PHC) in each of Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas in line with the guidelines of the National Primary Heath Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Programme.
“With this partnership, we aim to leverage the strengths and resources of both partners to address pressing health challenges and improve health out comes across the country.
“The collaboration between WHO and PSHAN signifies a significant milestone in our collective efforts to enhance healthcare delivery through primary Health Care delivery.
