A luminous array of influential figures converged at the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in London to witness the grand unveiling of “The Evil Genius,” a striking fusion of music and contemporary African art curated by Nigerian Innovator and musician, Oluwatosin ‘Mr Eazi’ Ajibade.

Among the distinguished attendees were internationally acclaimed performance artist Marina Abramović, film director Todd Eckert, actress Temi Otedola, Shola Akinlade of Paystack, Ashley Verse, DJ Cuppy, Tom Tripp, and many others. Abramović’s presence underscored the global significance of Mr. Eazi’s ambitious vision.

Amid this assembly of influential figures, “The Evil Genius” exhibition marked a night of convergence, where visionaries from diverse domains gathered in celebration of creativity. The 32-year-old art enthusiast curated this exhibition to celebrate love, freedom, happiness, and the themes explored in his album of the same title. With the successful turnout from the public, the exhibition was featured in ArtNews as one of the best booths at the 2023 edition of the fair.

“The Evil Genius” which features 16 artworks from 12 artists chosen by Mr Eazi, representing eight African countries, first opened in Accra at Gallery 1957 in September. Following its successful stint in London, the exhibition is now poised for a highly anticipated move to Lagos in November where it is expected to continue fueling meaningful discussions about Contemporary African Art on the global stage.
