African Leaders Urged to Harness Partnership for Growth

African countries have been urged to take advantage of public private partnership, PPP to develop their sectors.

Experts who were present at the conference of Myles Leadership University, Togo averred that a lot of African countries were still behind their global contemporaries because they have not explored external opportunities.

Speaking at the conference which also saw seven eminent persons presented with honourary doctorate degree, a member of the governing council of Afro -Asia chamber of commerce, Dr Edward Agyekun Kuffour urged leaders to open their arms freely for support and competitive deals that will not only boost nation’s economy but engenders education development.

According to Kuffour who is also an academic staff of the university, the private sector has played huge role in African development across the board, maintaining that a nexus between the public and private sectors was the only growth option and a veritable strategy in bridging education finance gap.

Similarly, United Kingdom- based banker and fintech professional, Anurag Saxena charged regional leaders to explore sustainable strategies through collaboration to address environmental and social challenges plaguing the continent.

He said, “The struggle for environmental protection and climate change has to be a collaborative venture involving public – private partnership as government alone cannot do it all.”

Among those conferred with honourary doctorate degree was a Nigerian and Founder of Regalo Hope Foundation, Mrs Chinenye Onuorah whose foundation specialized on youth development and women empowerment in Nigeria.

Kufour said Onuorah humanitarian and developmental works merited her for the distinguished award.

He encouraged her to keep transforming lives and setting examples via strategic leadership for young people to emulate.
