In the wake of their divorce, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Anita Oyakhilome made it clear that their relationship was over and that there was no room for reconciliation. An out-of-court settlement was also not on the table.
In 2014, rumors about a divorce between Mr. Oyakhilome and Mrs. Oyakhilome started circulating as she had been absent from several Christ Embassy events.
Some members of the church even opened a Facebook page called “Where is Rev Anita Oyakhilome” addressing her absence.
Initially, Christ Embassy denied reports that the couple was estranged and maybe divorcing.
However, in May 2014, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome finally addressed the rumors and confirmed that he and his wife were going to get a divorce.
Mrs. Oyakhilome was also a pastor of Christ Embassy, and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, who founded the church, revealed that she did not share his vision of the church. That was one of the reasons why the marriage fell apart, according to him.

She also addressed the rumors about a reconciliation with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and stated that there was no truth to them.
While she killed one rumor, she fueled another one with that post. Anita Oyakhilome signed the post “Pastor Anita Schafer,” which made readers believe that she had remarried. She denied those rumors and has not spoken much of her private life since then.

In 1993, Mr. Oyakhilome and Mrs. Oyakhilome’s first child, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome, was born. Two years later, Charlene Oyakhilome completed the family.
As the two daughters grew up, Charlene Oyakhilome chose to live a life out of the public eye. Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome, on the other hand, became a gospel singer and songwriter in Christ Embassy’s music and arts ministry.
She married the Dutch/Ghanaian businessman Phillip Frimpong in 2018 and gave birth to their daughter, Arielle Rachelle-Marise, in 2021. She is Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s and Anita Oyakhilome’s first grandchild.
