The Federal and State Governments have been urged to be prudent in the management of the heavy financial resources at their disposal to bring succour to Nigerians in 2022.
A member of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Hon. Oladele Gboyega made the call in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital while receiving some political associates who paid him a seasonal felicitation visit.
Gboyega noted that the resources being allocated to the federal government and other tiers of governments were enough to alleviate poverty among Nigerians if diligently utilised.
The federal commissioner advised the three tier of government to invest in the welfare of the citizenry in 2022 to further enhance the masses appreciation of Nigeria’s democratic governance.
”Our democracy is gradually maturing and will soon clock a silver jubilee, 25 years. It is therefore, very important that the administrators of the nation’s resources in the three tiers of government, focus on alleviating the economic hardships of the people,” he stated.
Gboyega, who represents Osun State on RMAFC, said that for 2022, a year preceding general elections in 2023, the governments should executive realistic projects and programmes that will directly touch the lives of the citizenry”.
”From our vantage position in the RMAFC, we know that Allah has blessed and endowed Nigeria with adequate resources to make the average Nigerian live a long, happy and prosperous life”, Hon Gboyega stated.
” When leaders are dedicated, honest and sincere with the people, agitation will be less, people become more appreciative, helping governing authorities to be more focused, he noted.
He urged the federal, states and local governments authorities to exhibit utmost dedication and sincerity in solving the economic problems of Nigerians with their various huge 2022 fiscal budgets.
