The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, has said that the country will remain an indivisible entity despite the challenges confronting it.

Mustapha stated this during the Nigeria @60 Photo Exhibition with the theme, “60 years of Independence” in Abuja.

He said that Nigeria @60 celebration commenced from October 2, 2020 and continued up to September 30, 2021 as a subcommittee has lined up programmes within the one-year celebration to allow it spread throughout the intervening period.

According to him, the significance of the photo exhibition is to describe the several strides Nigeria has taken in its journey from independence to date.

As a country, he said Nigeria has witnessed several changes in the system of government from the parliamentary system of independence to the Presidential system that it is currently operating.

He said, “This photo exhibition has been put together to remind us of our rich history, and to tell the story of Nigeria for the benefit of the youths who have been exposed to bias and incorrect rendition of past happenings in the country.

“For the young Nigerians, this exhibition will act as a way of impacting knowledge in formative and pictorial preservation of Nigerian leaders who have contributed to achieving its purpose of unity in diversity.

“As a nation, we had our challenging times but we overcame them on the strength of our rich culture, dynamic population with over 250 ethnic groups and ever resilient spirit.

“In spite of our diversity in culture and language, we remain a strong and indivisible country.

This unity in our diversity has been aptly captured in the theme of this diamond jubilee celebration.”

The Minister, Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo who was represented by the Director Policy and Strategy, Babangida Alkali said the photo exhibition was one of the activities lined up to commemorate the Nigeria @60 Diamond Jubilee Celebration.

He said that the mandate of the ownership sub-committee had helped in encouraging private sector participation in producing local content, identify programmes to be sponsored by private organizations involved.
