Police: We will Rescue Abducted Obasanjo’s Workers

The Ogun State Police Command has assured all stakeholders that its men would do everything possible to rescue three workers of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who were kidnapped on Wednesday by gunmen along Kobape-Abeokuta Expressway.

The victims were identified as the Financial Controller, the Group Auditor and the Group Store Manager of the Obasanjo Holdings, Kobape.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abimbola Oyeyemi, gave the assurance in Abeokuta while confirming the incident that happened around 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

The victims were said to have been admitted while driving to Abeokuta.

A source who craved anonymity added that the trio were abducted around Seseri village after their Hilux vehicle was shot at by the gunmen and were reportedly dragged into the bush and taken to an unknown destination.

Oyeyemi said” “The kidnapping occurred around 6 p.m. yesterday. Obasanjo has a farm around the area in Kobape.

“Our men have begun searching for them and we will ensure they are rescued.”

In the same vein, a retired lecturer of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Mr. Fasasi Olanigan, was also kidnapped along Abeokuta-Imasai road in Ogun.

It was gathered that Olanigan was taken away by the kidnappers, who left his car by the roadside.

At the time of filing this report, it could not be confirmed whether or not the kidnappers have reached out to the families of their victims for ransom.
