Inclusion, Effective Participation is Vital for Organisational Growth, Says Sanni

The Chief Executive Officer, Emerging Africa Group, Toyin Sanni, has stated that inclusion and effective participation are vital in driving organisational growth.

Sanni, who stated this yesterday in Lagos during her keynote address with the theme: ‘Stand Out’ at the 2020 Great Place To Work Awards ceremony, said in a healthy organisation, employees and supervisors must have the same goals, everyone should enjoy a feeling of inclusion and participation.

The event was organised to recognize companies who made the ranking list of best workplaces for 2020.

She noted that managers in a well-run organisation listen to the ideas put forth by subordinates.

The event which is the 7th edition is part of the global GPTW and was organized to recognize Companies who made the Ranking List of Best Workplaces for 2020. 15 organizations won this year’s Best Workplaces award. For Small Corporate Organizations: FBN Quest Trustees (5th), Pfizer (4th), IdeasHouse (3rd), FBN Holdings (2nd), and SC Johnson (1st). For the Medium Corporate Organizations BetKing (5th), FBN Quest Merchant Bank (4th), Novartis (3rd), Oando Plc (2nd), and Courtville Business Solutions Plc clinching the 1st position. The final categories, Large Corporate Organization Best Workplaces 2020 are: First Bank Nigeria Limited (5th), TVC (4th), FIDSON (3rd), PWC (2nd), and Sterling Bank Plc (1st).

Yearly, Great Place To Work Nigeria (GPTW) recognizes the best companies to work for by assessing companies which have demonstrated the main attributes of a great work place.

Speaking at the event which was hosted aboard a cruise ship, the Country Director, Great Place To Work Nigeria, Victor Ligbago revealed that GPTW carefully seeks out certain attributes in organisations such as companies where the employees trust their employers, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with.

He hinted that GPTW examines companies that have courage and confidence to build the kind of workplace where organizational objectives are met by employees, “who give their personal best and work together as a team.”

According to him, “GPTW uses the Trust Index Survey to measure employee perception. Then it also uses the Culture Audit to benchmark policies and practices against global best practices. Next it analyses the collated results and conducts validation exercises to ensure that policies are being practiced. The overall scores are composed of 56% – Trust Index, 11% – Employee comments, 33% – Culture Audit.”

Great Place To Work also issued Certified certificates to AG Leventis Nig Plc, Leadway Assurance Limited, FBN Capital, UAC Foods, Global Accelerex as Silver Certified Workplaces. The Gold Certified Workplaces include: Ernst & Young, First Bank Nigeria Limited, Fidson, Fidelity Bank Plc, TVC, FBN Quest Merchant Bank, BetKing, FBN Quest Trustees, Pfizer, and Novartis. And the Platinum Certified Workplaces included: SC Johnson, Courtville Business Solutions Plc, IdeasHouse, FBN Holdings, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Oando, and Sterling Bank Plc
