Army Kills Wanted Militia Leader in Benue

The Army has carried out a special operation in Benue State that killed a wanted militia leader, Terugwa Igbagwa (alias Orjondu).

The raid on the criminal’s hideout, off Zaki Biam and Katsina-Ala highway, was carried out by a combined team of Operation Whirl Stroke tracking team and Special Forces troops of Sector 2 of the Nigerian Army deployed in Zaki Biam.

According to the Army Coordinator, Defence Media Operation, Major General John Enenche, Orjondu is the second most wanted criminal kingpin after Gana in Benue State.

“He was responsible for kidnapping, armed robbery, assassination, gun running and other criminal activities around Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo LGA’s for many years,” he said.

Items recovered from him include one AK 47 rifle, one locally made rifle, one AK 47 magazine with 30 rounds of 7.62mm special and some charms.

He said the Military High Command has congratulated Operation Whirl Stroke for their exploits in recent times.
