Senate Resumes Plenary, Goes into Close-door Session

The Senate on Tuesday resumed plenary after an eight-week annual vacation and immediately went into a close-door session.

The senators started arriving the chambers from about 9.30am exchanging banter until the arrival of the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan, and other principal officers at about 10.18am.

After the opening prayer was said by Lawan at 10.20am, the Senate went into an executive session.

The Senate President is expected to summarise the outcome of the close-door session after this time out.
