PDP’s Fintiri Wins in Adamawa, Declared Governor-elect

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has won the Adamawa state governorship polls.

Fintiri scored 376,552 to defeat his closest rival, the incumbent governor and candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mohammed Jibrila Bindow, who scored 336,386.

He was returned as winner and declared governor elect by the state returning officer, Prof Andrew Haruna in the early hours of Friday.

The governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) Senator Abdulazeez Nyako came third polling 113,237 votes. The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Chief Emmanuel Bello polled 29,792 votes to come fourth in the race.
