The Senate has expressed its disagreement with the injunction of a Federal High Court Abuja, restraining it from overriding President Muhammadu Buhari’s veto on the Electoral Act Amendment.
It therefore resolved to write a letter to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, to register its protest of what it described as abuse to the principle of separation of powers.
This followed a point of order raised by the Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, at plenary Thursday.
