He lives to improve the lot of others, the underprivileged in particular hence the contents of his pockets are often emptied to better the lives of impoverished, ragged families of the boondocks.

Adebayo left office as governor of Ekiti State in 2003 when the then ruling party, PDP, captured five of the six states in the South West. the former governor of Ekiti State did what no one expected by bonding with the Chairman of Dangote Group. The ex-Ekiti governor has regained acclaim and political capital, following his recent appointment as Chairman of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) by President Muhammadu Buhari. Since his exit from the Ekiti State Government House, Adebayo had been unable to land any plum role or position in politics. While he waited for his comeback, he developed a highly rewarding and enviable friendship with Dangote.
