Most of us wish and pray that this coming year will be great and will bring a lot of goodness to our lives but we do almost to nothing about bringing our wishes to pass. Wishing for next year to be great and doing nothing about it, is like wishing your meal comes out great and tasteful without adding any ingredient into it. If we want next year to be great then we have a major role to play in it.

Components of the recipe for 2018 Use your mind and words to work for you and not against you:
This is one of the major components of the recipe for 2018, your mind and words will determine how far you will go next year. Many of us wish that the coming year will be great but our words contradicts what we wish for. I have heard too many people say to themselves or to others that “next year will be difficult because of one reason or the other” or you hear them say “I know I will not succeed but let me just try.”

Our minds and words are very powerful tool to use in our favour rather than against us. We should think success. Don’t think failure, at work or at your house. When you face difficult situation, think, “I will win,” not “I will probably lose.” When you compete with someone else, think, “I’m equal to the best,” not “I’m outclassed.” When opportunity appears, think “I can do it,” never “I can’t.” Thinking success conditions your mind to create plans that produce success. Thinking failure does the exact opposite. Failure thinking conditions the mind to think other thoughts that produce failure.

We should never underestimate the power of our minds and words, and also never overestimate the ability of others. Don’t sell yourself short. See the reasons why you can do it, not the reason why you can’t. Put your minds and words to creative use. Use it to find ways to win, not to prove you will lose.
Set written down goals and make plans: this is another major component of the success recipe for next year, if you need a plan before you build your house; then you will definitely need a plan or goal to build your life. A goal not written down is just a wish,

Starting the year without a plan or a goal is like a traveler who goes to the motor park, and when he was asked where he is travelling to, his reply was “I just want to travel but I don’t know where I’m travelling to,” for this year to be great you must have a goal that is specific, measurable, achievable, and realistic and time bound.
Have you set goals for yourself? What are your goals for the next 1 year? How about 3 years from now? 5 years? 10 years?

Many people today are sleepwalking through life. Even though they work hard, they don’t feel like they are getting what they want. That’s because they don’t have a direction of where they want to go, what they want to achieve. Students graduate and they are not sure what they to do with their life; adults work for years and are shocked when they reach their retirement and they don’t know what to do next.

When you don’t set goals, you can spend your whole life running up and down, and not achieving anything. Whereas in reality you are just fulfilling another person’s goals, not yours.

Invest in personal development: personal development is all about investing in yourself so that you can manage yourself effectively regardless of what life might bring your way.
Personal development allows you to be proactive rather than wait for good things to happen, you get out there and make them happen. Personal development can come in a number of different forms, including; training, attending seminars/workshop, read books, etc.

Get a mentor: mentors or business coaches are one of the most valuable resources anyone can tap into. The idea of launching a business or starting anything new should no longer be a scary or daunting experience riddled with unknown. It should be a collaborating experience accumulating the learning of the hundreds of local entrepreneurs who have already built successful businesses in the area you intend to go into and can help you faster and avoid known pitfalls based on their years of experience.

Whatever you intend to do; there is already someone who has done it. So look for that person and learn under them. Nothing great was ever accomplished alone, for every goal achieved in one’s life, it can be trace back to a mentor or individual who helped you achieve it. Whatever it is that you want to accomplish in life, a mentor is going to kick start you on the path to achieve it.

Dare to start: there are a lot of us that wish to start a business, run for an office, begin a programme for some years now and has not been able to start because of the fear of failure. My advice for you is to dare to start not minding if you fail or not.

Getting started is more important than succeeding. Having the courage to start is more important than succeeding because the people who consistently get started are the only ones who can end up finishing anything.
Take risk, get started and contribute something to your team, your family, your job, and to your community. Whether or not you end up being number one in the world is irrelevant. Most of the time, the value you provide isn’t nearly as important as pushing yourself to provide it.

If you just take some time out to follow through with all the recipes for 2018, I guaranty you that you will definitely experience more growth and more progress in your life a year from now than you can even imagine.
I’m glad with all the new partnership formed with the different organization this past week; we are still available for more partnership this coming year.
