La Liga Goes Live on GOtv Sunday

Coinciding with the nation’s 57th independence anniversary, GOtv will sunday commence airing live matches of the prestigious Spanish La Liga as all the matches in the Spanish elite football league will be available on a newly introduced sports channel on GOtv, Super Sports Select 4.

The new content offering is part of a wider sports coverage which includes the recently acquired rights to show wresting fights from the WWE; select matches from the English Premier League and African football leagues.

General Manager of GOtv, Akinola Salu, made this known at the launch of GOtv MAX, a new package GOtv. GOtv MAX is a new family entertainment package on the platform that will afford its customers access to the latest and best content straight from Hollywood and around the world.

“Some of the exciting programming that will be available on the new package includes the best of European football action including all La Liga matches live on a new sports channel, SS Select 4. There will also be select live games of the Premier League and a wider sports offering which include the recently acquired WWE and African football leagues,” he stated.

According to The Local, an online platform, quoting statistics provided by Uefa’s league coefficient, Spain’s Primera Division remains the world’s best league and has been for the past five years. The league boasts of the top two footballers in the world in Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona, Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid and Barcelona, from La Liga have won Europe’s elite club competition between them in the last four years. Besides, the leagues has also provided the two finalists in European Champions League Finals twice in the last three years when city Rivals, Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid slugged it out in 2014 and 2016.
