Spanish Government Pledges Support for Nigeria’s Fight against Terrorism

The government of Spain has declared its support and solidarity with Nigeria in the fight against terrorism in the West African country, just as it reiterated its commitment to the search for peace and stability in the country.

This followed last Tuesday’s terrorist attacks on the Nigerian city of Mandarari in Borno State, killing at least 30 people and injuring 83, when three women blew themselves up in a local market and in a refugee camp.

The Spanish Government in a statement thursday, expressed sympathy to the families, friends as well as the government of Nigeria over the unfortunate incident.

The statement explained: “Spain strongly condemns Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in the Nigerian city of Mandarari in Borno State, in the North-east region of the country, killing at least 30 people and injuring another 83, when three women blew themselves up in a local market and in a refugee camp.

“The government of Spain expresses its deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims, as well as the people of Nigeria and the country’s authorities. Spain also wishes those injured a speedy and full recovery.
“Spain declares its support for and solidarity with Nigeria in its fight against terrorism and reiterates its commitment to the search for peace and stability in the country.”
