Following the flak from various quarters in Niger State about the performance of the state government in the past two years, especially the opposition politicians, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state has said that the All Progressives Congress government in the state “is working”.
The state chairman of the association, Rev. Mathias Echioda, made the remark on Sunday while delivering a sermon at a special interdenominational “Thanksgiving through praise service” held at the UK Bello Arts Theatre in Minna to mark the two years in office of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
In the sermon tagged: “Leadership in righteousness”, Rev. Echioda declared that: “The government of the day has done well in various areas. The government is doing its best and we all need to commend and not condemn it.
“I believe that people should not be condemned. It is unfair for anyone to say the government is not doing anything”
Echioda however advised the government to be wary of those he described as “sycophants”, saying these category of people are only interested in furthering their interests.
